Cover and firm lightly. For improved drainage sow in mounds, or hills, of soil 12 in diameter, 6-8 inches tall. Keep evenly moist. Offer trellis support so the plant can vine up with support.Keep the weeds under control during the growing season. Weeds compete with plants for water, space, and nutrients and do not move or step on the pumpkin’s fragile vines - can be permanently destroyed.Be mindful not to over-water, this can cause rot and mildew to spread throughout the vine.
